Dr. Canonico holds the position of Assistant Research Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado (CO, USA) and serves as a Clinician Scientist at CPC Clinical Research (CO, USA). He completed his residency in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Sassari (Italy) and earned a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy).

At the outset of his academic pursuits he established a keen interest in clinical cardiology, an interest that has defined his advancement in the field of medicine. His research has consistently focused on heart failure and the non-invasive management of coronary and peripheral artery disease. Dr. Canonico has been actively involved in both clinical trials and observational studies in these areas.
