Andrew Pitts, DO, FAAP is a Senior Instructor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, as well as a faculty member of CPC Clinical Research, an Academic Research Organization affiliated with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Dr. Pitts earned his medical degree from the University of New England and completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital Medical Center.   After completion of his training, Dr. Pitts joined the faculty at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado/University of Colorado, Department of Pediatrics.  He worked clinically in the Section of Emergency Medicine and was the Medical Director of the Children’s Hospital North Campus and Wheat Ridge Campus.  He then joined the faculty at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center before leaving clinical medicine to work as a Medical Director at a CRO, acting as a trialist.

At the CRO, he acted as a Medical Monitor and Safety Physician for numerous large trials, primarily covering cardiovascular trials focused on hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia, but also was involved in multiple oncology and pediatric trials.
