Learn The PAD Basics

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is the buildup of atherosclerotic plaque in the peripheral arteries and is often combined with the same disease in the coronary arteries. If left untreated PAD can lead to impairment in walking and eventually wounds and gangrene in toes.  In addition it can lead to myocardial infarction, stroke, amputation, and death. To provide the best care to your patients, start by knowing the PAD Basics.

Download the slide deck of our PAD Basics course which will answer the following common questions:

  • What is PAD, the risk factors, & its prevalence?
  • Why PAD matters with events & outcomes?
  • How to diagnose PAD?

Hear The Patient's Perspective

To better care for patients, we must understand their perspective. Watch our team’s interview with an actual PAD patient as she tells us her incredible story of living with and fighting this disease.

Shooey is a feisty, fun-loving, retired army nurse. Listen to her tell her own story as a patient that benefited from the world-class care and scientific integrity of an informed medical team.

Expand Your Knowledge

PAD doesn’t have to continue to be a rising health crisis in America. We’ve created resources you can view & download to increase your understanding of PAD. We want to help you be informed about a health pandemic that effects millions of Americans, so that you can continue to help the patients that we all care about. We can work together to help PAD patients get the education, care, and treatment that they need.
